KEARNEY — The Kearney Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to 120 Clearview Drive, for a report of a fence line on fire, moving towards the structure.

KVFD responded with 3 apparatus and 8 firefighters. Upon arrival, there was active fire along the fence line on the northeast side of the home, threatening the attached garage.

Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire and keep it contained to the outside of the home. KVFD checked for extension into the attached garage with nothing found. Parts of the wooden fence and miscellaneous items along the fence line were damaged as a result of the fire. No injuries were reported during the incident.

The fire was accidental in nature and the cause undetermined at this time. Kearney Volunteer Fire Department was assisted by the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office and Good Samaritan EMS.
