
Early morning fire at Kearney Taco John’s
KEARNEY, Neb. — The Nebraska State Fire Marshal is investigating after a fire at a Kearney restaurant early Wednesday morning. According to the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, a Kearney Police officer was called to Taco John’s, 419 E. 25th St., after dispatch received a security alarm.
KVFD finishes 2023 with 459 fire, 197 rescue calls
KEARNEY — 2023 was another busy year for the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department, they recently released last year’s statistics. The KVFD responded to 459 fire calls, 197 rescue calls, 107 non-emergency responses and their members recorded 6,049 hours of training.
Flame from Candle cause Local Fire
KEARNEY — Smoke and flames caused heavy damage and killed a dog Thursday in a mobile home fire at East Lawn Mobile Home Park. The State Fire Marshal determined an unattended candle was the cause of the blaze.
