We held our old-timers reunion where we invite the folks that have retired from the department. It was truly a pleasure to sit around with these folks and hear stories from the past and to get their opinions on the current events that we have going on.

Kearney home lost after gas fumes on shirt spontaneously combusted
Kearney Volunteer Fire Department was called out by Kearney Police Department Motor Unit for the ALS ice bucket challenge. We responded in style. We are calling out Good Samaritan Hospital EMS unit, City of Kearney's board members, Buffalo County mutual aid and the Buffalo County Sheriff's Department.

KVFD would like to welcome our new members: Jarod Nitkiewicz, Matt McDonald, Steven Brumbaugh, Philip Odom, Chris Kupec and Seth Lunberry.
We also have 2 new full-time drivers (employed by the city) who are Seth Lunbery and Bryan Chase. Bryan Chase is still an active volunteer as well who has been a member since January 2010.
