OUR HISTORY

The history of the Kearney Volunteer Fire Department officially began on 11 July 1883, with a meeting for the purpose of incorporating the Kearney Protective Hook and Ladder Company #1. Initially the equipment consisted of ladders, hooks and buckets purchased in 1875 by a City ordinance.
